TPT Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates TPT Stay at stay.tptsolutions.co.nz. We are based in New Zealand and are bound by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (“Privacy Act”) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use TPT Stay as a host or guest, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Service you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
- Host information: property listings, descriptions, photos, pricing, availability calendars, and house rules.
- Guest information: booking dates, number of guests, and any special requests.
- Identity verification: where required for trust and safety purposes.
- Billing information: credit card details (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers).
- Communications: messages exchanged between hosts and guests through the platform, and support requests.
Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and screen resolution.
- Usage data: search queries, properties viewed, booking behaviour — used to improve the Service.
- Cookies: session cookies required for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To facilitate bookings between hosts and guests.
- To process payments and payouts.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, and receipts.
- To enable messaging between hosts and guests.
- To verify identities and maintain trust and safety on the platform.
- To send product updates and feature announcements (you can opt out).
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
- To respond to support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Sharing Between Hosts and Guests
To facilitate a booking, certain information is shared between hosts and guests. When a booking is confirmed, the guest's name and contact details are shared with the host, and the host's property address and contact details are shared with the guest. Both parties consent to this sharing by using the platform.
5. How We Share Your Information
- Service providers: Trusted third-party vendors including Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), and Vercel (hosting). These providers process data only on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose information to comply with our legal obligations.
- Business transfers: If TPT Solutions Ltd is acquired or its assets transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in Australia and/or the United States, operated by our hosting providers. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls.
If you suspect any unauthorised access to your account, please notify us immediately at support@tptsolutions.co.nz.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records may be retained longer where required by law (e.g. for tax purposes). If you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
8. Your Rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and other applicable laws, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Object to or restrict our processing of your information in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (e.g. marketing emails).
